I read from a Core77 article that a UK based company named "Bird Brick" was making bird houses that were incorporated with the brick walls of houses. This partly inspired my final design as i also wanted to produce a birdhouse product that could be integrated into a suburban/urban environment.

Here I looked at birdhouse designs made by an artists named Jada Fitch. The ideas extracted from this source were not really used in my final design though i did find the work to be interesting.

Here I looked at anti-pest design methods that deal with squirrels as it is a problem most bird hobbyists usually face. However the conclusion was that most conventional designs don't work as intended and usually fail. Perhaps if i had more time i would have experimented with this topic further to inform my final design.

Lastly I checked to see what kinds of garden species are common in the UK so as to inform my design to accommodate them. I decided that due to their size, Finches and Tits would be the ideal birds to accommodate for bird hobbyists. The size of my final Birdhouse design reflects that.
